Google's 200 Position Factors: The Entire List
You Probably already know that Google uses about 200 ranking factors in their algorithm...
But What the heck are they?
Well Today you're in for a treat because I have assembled a complete list.
Some are proven.
Some Are contentious.
Others are SEO nerd speculation.
Broken Links:
Having Too many broken links on a webpage might be a sign of a failed or abandoned site. The Google Rater Guidelines Document utilizes broken links as you was to assess a homepage's quality.
Domain History:
A Website with volatile ownership (through whois) or a few drops may tell Google to "reset" your site's history, negating hyperlinks pointing to the domain.
Useful Content:
As Pointed out by Backlinko reader Jared Carrizales, Google may differentiate between "quality" and "useful" content.
Quality Of Internal Links Pointing to Page:
Internal Links from pages that are authoritative on domain have a more powerful impact than pages without a low PR.
Keyword Word Order:
An Exact match of a searcher's key word in a page's content will normally rank greater than the same keyword phrase in a different order. For example: think about a look for: "cat shaving techniques". A page optimized for the term "cat shaving methods" will rank better than a page optimized for "techniques for shaving a cat". This is a good example of why keyword research is really, very important.
